Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for developing innovation solutions? Join our team! As a Principal Business Intelligence (BI) Developer, you will work closely with Business Partners, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and other IT teams to ensure a tight fit between Business Intelligence/Analytics environment, business requirements, and the Data Management platforms. You are responsible for combining data from multiple sources into BI-specific data models to create meaningful reports, visualizations, and dashboards. Ultimately, your goal will be able to help your customers discover actionable insights and data-driven decisions. You will also support Data Science efforts including predictive/prescriptive analytics and AI analysis of big data. As a principal, you will be expected to mentor and develop other junior resources, and set the technical direction for the team.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 14 years of relevant experience

    • Direct experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Expert Data Analyst with extensive experience facilitating performance improvement projects and/or quantitative analysis/reporting of quality and efficiency measurements

  • Ability to lead and mentor a working team across multiple business units to establish enterprise best practices

  • Establishes Business Area (BA) priority of initiatives based on need and ensures the other BA developers are equally tasked

  • Adapts well to changing priorities and deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences

  • Business Area liaison to corporate in order to ensure data integrity flows from top to bottom

  • Demonstrated ability to create, fit, and test statistical models including linear regression, logistic regression and related generalized linear models

  • Proven ability to establish and maintain data management practices, new process and documentation at an enterprise level

  • Deep understanding of Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing concepts

  • Extensive experience with reporting tools (Power BI)

  • Advanced SQL skills and the ability to write complex, highly-optimized queries

  • Work with business stakeholders to support data product development, including requirements gathering, specifications documentation and user acceptance testing

​Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to analyze sophisticated problems and issues using data from internal and external sources

  • Extensive experience with Business Intelligence tools (one or more of the following: Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, qlikview, TIBCO Spotfire, SAP Business Objects, SAP Crystal Report

  • Advanced Power BI Skills: Provide quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to decision-makers

  • Data Model design: familiarity with OLAP and Tabular model design principles

  • Languages: Advanced DAX, Power Query (M)

  • Dashboard development, Workspace management, role-level security control

  • Ancillary services/tools: Gateway Administration, Source Control, R/Python integration, Dataflows, ALM Toolkit, DAX Studio, Tabular Editor

  • Advanced skills in other MS SQL Server technologies - SSIS, SSAS, SSMS, and SSRS

  • Knowledge of Python, Scala, PySpark, R or other languages is a plus

  • Advanced data profiling skills

  • Knowledge of multiple development methodologies, preferably Agile

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $134,597.00 - $185,070.89

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
