Senior Tax Accountant job at OG Tax and Accounting Group Inc, Brooklyn

Full time permanent Senior Tax Accountant needed for a fast paced accounting firm. Salary will be $70,000 - $110,000 per year based on experience and education plus annual bonus. This position reports directly to the partner. Candidate shall possess an Accounting degree and must be a strong self-starter. All candidates must be able to multitask, be self-motivated, and must have excellent communication skills

At least 4 years of Accounting and Tax experience required. This position has lots of potential for growth for entrepreneurial minds.

Accounting Related Responsibilities:

Assist with Accounts Payable

Assist with Accounts Receivable billing and collections

Perform month end functions

Perform bank reconciliations and cash applications

Prepare and enter journal entries

Manage fixed assets sub-ledger

Assist with audit

Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures

Other Ad hoc projects as assigned

Accounting Related Responsibilities:

Strong tax accounting skills for the preparation of complex personal tax returns

Preparation of corporate and partnership returns

Respond to IRS & Tax notices

Maintain clear and concise accounting and tax work papers

Review tax information supplied by the client : may meet with or clients with questions

Utilize and develop basic understanding of various tax programs and tax software

Work with confidential client matters

Other Required Skills & Experience:

Working knowledge of Accounting Principles and AICPA professional code of conduct

Attention to Detail

Ability to work independently and perform research

Ability to handle confidential/sensitive matters

Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment

Demonstrated strong leadership and problem solving skills

Keen desire to excel professional

Applicant Must be a Certified Public Accountant

Experience with Quickbooks is a must

Excellent Excel skills, as well as a general knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs

Excellent communication skills

Detail oriented and organized

Ability to prioritize tasks, work efficiently and maintain discipline in order to meet deadlines

Organized and flexible - ability to manage multiple projects/assignments, while meeting deadlines

Required experience: Accounting and Tax: 4 years

Required license or certification: CPA (preferred), Bachelors Degree or higher in Accounting
