JOB TITLE:     Senior Tax Accountant

                                            

MAIN FUNCTION: 

The Tax Senior position will be an integrated team member of the Company’s current tax department (which is currently comprised of 4 individuals – VP of Tax, AVP of Tax, Tax Director and Tax Manager), tasked with various tax responsibilities primarily related to the Company’s owned and/or managed facilities.  This individual will primarily assist the AVP of Tax and the Tax Manager with various tax compliance, tax provision, and other tax-related tasks necessary to manage the overall tax position of the entire enterprise.  Secondary responsibilities include assisting the Tax Director with the Company’s corporate tax function.

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience required in corporate tax or public accounting
  • Partnership and corporate tax experience required
  • Foundational understanding of ASC 740 and related experience required
  • Proficient in tax fixed assets/depreciation concepts (FAS software experience a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA license required (or working towards completion of CPA certification)
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, organizational skills and confidence working with outside tax advisors/consultants
  • Ability to collaborate with various team members across the organization
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

 

DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of US federal and state income tax returns, including extensions and quarterly estimates
  • Communicate with outside tax advisors, internal facility administrative teams, and discuss tax concepts with physicians and/or such physicians’ tax advisors
  • Maintain partnership ownership and capital accounts for financial statement purposes, as well as tax basis capital accounts
  • Process syndications and unit transfers. Duties include the preparation of journal entries, coordination with legal and development departments, and interaction with internal and external auditors
  • Assist with sale/use tax and property tax compliance
  • Perform tax fixed asset reconciliation for tax compliance purposes
  • Assist with income tax planning and analysis
  • Assist with tax audits
  • Assist in the preparation of the Company’s US income tax provision under ASC 740
