About The Team

On the Merchant Strategy & Ops team, our mission is to have best-in class restaurant selection, build cutting edge services for our merchants to grow their business, and help our partners operate efficiently on the platform. As a member of the Merchant S&O team focused on local markets,, you’ll be responsible for figuring out ways to improve our merchant base in specific regions across the USA, going deep on our local merchant base, building playbooks to expand and differentiate our local selection, scaling new products to help our merchant partners grow, and finding ways to enable our local teams to accelerate growth.

About The Role

As as Associate on the Merchant Strategy & Operations Selection team, you’ll drive the end-to-end process to identify, target, and acquire the top local merchants in your area. This role will sit at the intersection of growth, analytics, and sales & marketing teams to design and implement our playbook to acquire and retain great local selection in every neighborhood. This includes driving our resource allocation, influencing our marketing and consumer strategy, merchant experience design, and strategic initiatives to drive growth. This role will work cross-functionally and sit across business teams, and as such will require ruthless prioritization and data-driven decision-making to ensure our teams are working against the right goals and have the tools needed to achieve them.

  • Strategize – Build the strategy for differentiated selection at the market level, including which merchants we need and how to get them
  • Implement – Drive the strategy & execution for new DoorDash Selection initiatives to help build and retain a differentiated merchant base
  • Analyze - Build models to define success, new product KPIs, and support our cross-functional teams
  • Experiment – Use data-driven decision making and sound business judgment to run tests on everything from new use cases to existing process optimization
  • Influence – Work cross-functionally with our US Markets Growth & Ops teams to launch and execute key initiatives

We’re Excited About You Because…

  • You have 3+ years of experience in operations, strategy or consulting; team leadership and/or high-growth startup experience is preferred
  • You have a proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives, hitting goals, and succeeding in a complex and fast moving environment
  • You are an excellent analytical thinker who can deliver actionable recommendations out of complex datasets; strong SQL skills preferred
  • You have expert communication and interpersonal skills
  • You're entrepreneurial with a strong bias towards action, an ownership mentality and are able to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment
  • You're naturally curious and look for ways to innovate and improve and want to shape the vision and direction of the company
  • You have grit and willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to make things successful
  • You're a relationship-builder who can influence and motivate people at all levels across a variety of job functions
  • You're a problem solver who can go to the lowest level of detail and translate insights into high-level goals into actionable plans
