The Business Process Consultant will perform research, development, and presentation of new or existing products to support the sale or delivery of products and/or services.  Reviews product performance against expectations and facilitates or influences changes to product to improve competitive position and optimal product performance for our customers.  May work with internal or external business constituents to determine product future direction or respond to product inquiries.  May be project-based and involve working within multiple product functions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Vendor Manager on health plan request that align to TPA/Operations
  • Documentation of Optum processes align to support the health plan. Includes creation of Optum job aids and workflows
  • Serves as a key resource for the external ISNP’s for program implementation and ongoing operations.
  • Creating and leading work plans to close infrastructural gaps in our model, including managing capital projects to improve patient identification, workflow management, and market reporting
  • Stay connected to the Data team in order to provide assistance to the markets and inform them if there are any data issues/problems, also serve as the first line of defense with any defect triage.
  • Monitor key reporting needs for the products and work with the data team to develop additional needed reports
  • Influences innovation across teams to ensure aligned, cohesive progress across multiple areas including technology, marketing, and service operations
  • Hold the various internal and external functional teams accountable to key action plans to improve outcomes including the vendor TPA, Actuarial services for bids and benefits, Model of Care resources, Network, Sales, and Clinical internal to CCM
  • Identifies core infrastructural gaps that would enable us to execute to new markets for expansion
  • Support creation of health plan reporting as needed.
  • Support/participate in health plan audits. Includes gathering of needed reports for the health plan.
  • Review health plan member materials/communications to include making revisions. Would like training on this to increase knowledge and ensure accuracy
  • Support health plan expansion to include participation in Ops related health plan expansion meetings as well as assist in creating expansion documents. Documents include project trackers, business development calendars and work flows.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of Operations, project management and/or business analysis experience within the health plan industry
  • Previous experience in Medicare Advantage products and /or services
  • Previous experience in healthcare claim processing
  • Proven Project Management skills
  • Intermediate Excel and Reporting skills

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Able to balance strategic thinking with the urgency to drive work forward
  • Adapt quickly to changes in work direction and able to pivot work accordingly
  • ISNP experience
  • Team player with experience forming working professional relationships
  • Experience using data and research to formulate logical business recommendations

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
