The Role

The Corporate Development Director / Senior Director Role will be active across all of SoFi’s product verticals sourcing, evaluating and executing on partnerships, acquisitions and investments to help SoFi achieve it’s ambitious goals. This role will require strong partnership with all key executives and functions at SoFi to understand key performance indicators and priorities, and a strong analytical mindset to identify inorganic opportunities to help meet and exceed these.

What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate with senior management and business unit leads across SoFi to evaluate potential acquisitions and investments aligned with the company and business unit strategies
  • Drive all aspects of a deal, including sourcing, qualification, initial rationale and pitch, financial modeling and valuation, due diligence, closing and integration activities
  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Investor Relations, and Communications throughout the various stages of a potential or live transaction
  • Stay apprised of broader industry developments such as competitive landscape, changing technologies, and key business metrics
  • Identify and qualify new ideas and companies for SoFi from variety of sources
  • Maintain close ties to SoFi executives and industry leaders
  • Show up as a positive culture carrier aligned with our values, driving inclusiveness, belonging and mentorship within and outside of Corporate Development
What You’ll Need
  • 7 - 10 years experience in one or more of investment banking, corporate development, venture capital, private equity, or management consulting
  • Extensive experience in deal environments
  • Strong analytical skills, experience performing financial, valuation and quantitative analyses, and familiarity with accounting & key operational metrics
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in financial environments, with experience preparing and presenting information to key decision makers and executives
  • Strong organizational skills. History of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines. Willingness to embrace and work productively in unstructured and ambiguous environments
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage time-sensitive projects, specifically experience in deal environments
  • Collaborative working style with demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional relationships
  • Strong interest and knowledge of global FinTech and adjacent financial services competitive landscape
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint
  • Alignment with SoFi’s mission and core values
Nice to Have
  • Experience with financial research tools such as SNL and/or Factset
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Docs/Sheets/Slides
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or Accounting
