The Implementation Provider Pricing Analyst is responsible for various activities related to managing provider pricing configuration information and processes for new OptumCare market implementations and market expansions. The role reports to the (Sr) Implementation Provider Pricing Lead and is not part of core operations. An ideal candidate has experience reviewing provider (Medicare Advantage) contracts and programming them into a claims platform, preferably Facets. The Analyst will manage large volumes and varieties of providers and their respective pricing information and will need to be comfortable in a fast paced, hard deadline environment. 
Some activities could involve using SQL query knowledge to validate and audit provider data readiness. Minimally the role will require a solid understanding of how to effectively manipulate and analyze data in Excel. The employee may work with other functional areas/teams to understand and aid in the implementation of requirements. Testing teams will rely on this resource to troubleshoot issues they find in verifying end to end readiness for 1/1.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Request provider rates from payors and hold them accountable to timelines/deliverables
  • Management of initial and maintenance (add/change) rate receipt from payors
  • Create inventory workflow for provider pricing configuration 
  • Liaise with UHC to support configuration team inquiries about rates
  • Post-production pricing agreement validation (AGSE, TF, Duplicates)
  • Unit Testing Support
  • UAT Support
  • Special (Cleanup/Research) Projects as Needed
  • Post 1/1 Claim Pend Support

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years data analysis experience from either professional or academic experience
  • Experience with or knowledge of Medicare or health insurance programs
  • Experience with Facets
  • Experience with provider data / provider records
  • Experience extracting, manipulating and processing value from large datasets; experience working with unstructured datasets
  • Pricing Configuration experience
  • Business analysis experience including gathering requirements and providing recommendations
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access

  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets
  • Experience with MS Visio

  • Dependency and workload management
  • Ability to extract, manipulate and process value from large datasets

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
