Job Summary:

The Printing Feeder role is an apprentice to the Offset Press Operator and Assistant Operator. This is a line of progression position that is an essential part of the team who helps make sure each job runs smoothly. They understand and align business operations and the Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with PaperWorks business, cultural, financial and operational objectives. 


Summary of essential job functions:

  • Verify customer specifications for each product using computer system.
  • Follow and complete all work instructions for each job.
  • Check quality continually ensuring standards are met or exceeded.
  • Operate a walkie to transport product within and between departments.
  • Feed the press in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain ink levels, dampening solution and all other supplies.
  • Assist the Pressman with make readies and production.
  • Perform wash-ups on the presses.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain printing equipment as required.
  • Responsible for knowing equipment lockout procedures.
  • Record production data as required (paperwork and on computer system).
  • Perform general housekeeping and other related duties as require
Qualifications:
  • Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalency.  
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of all printing functions obtained through a minimum of 3 years feeding large-format sheet fed lithographic printing presses. 
  • The successful candidate will be required to work a continental shift schedule and must successfully complete a color blindness test.
