The Provider Installation Coordinator is responsible for the installation and administration of assigned contracts, including, but not limited to: structure and billing set up, eligibility collection, database loading, and preparation of plan materials such as administrative documents and provider education materials. Provider Installation Coordinators are also responsible for overall provider contract and amendment loading and processing using various databases. Responsibilities may also include auditing contract loads for adherence to quality measures and reporting standards. The Provider Installation Coordinator must have a customer service mindset in working with our providers, doctors, hospitals, clinics, etc.

This position is full - time (40 hours / week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain provider and facility information in company systems within accepted quantity and quality guidelines
  • Research and update billing and contracting information for provider medical claims
  • Apply knowledge / skills to activities that often vary from day to day
  • Solve routine problems independently and work with supervisor to solve more complex problems
  • Interact with Provider Relations, Network Access and Claim Units
  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet goals with a variety of responsibilities
  • Show consistent professionalism and good judgment
  • Work with others as part of a team

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of work experience in a corporate setting
  • 1+ years of managed care OR medical insurance experience
  • Ability to work any full - time (40 hours / week) 8-hour shift between the hours of 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM from Monday - Friday including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite: Microsoft Word (ability to create and edit documents) and Microsoft Excel (ability to sort, filter, create tables, and search data in spreadsheets)
  • Data entry and 10 - key experience
  • Experience in working with healthcare providers
  • Experience in medical claims processing

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within 150 miles of Wausau, WI
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Soft Skills:

  • Experience with working in a production environment meeting production and quality goals
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills including telephone etiquette
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Must have excellent research, investigation, problem solving and critical thinking skills
