The Sales Account Manager's responsibilities include developing new and long-term relationships with a portfolio of customers and connecting with key business executives and stakeholders. Account Managers liaise between customers and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs. Manage and develop client accounts to initiate and maintain favorable relationships with clients. Must be customer-centric and understand the dynamics of the voice of the customer.

 

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and manage positive relationships with established accounts and future prospects
  • Ensure the reputation of our company for excellent customer service and quality workmanship
  • Increase the sales and margins by calling on existing accounts and building relationships with potential clients
  • Develop a pipeline of future customers through your existing relationships and network
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of all prospecting and sales activities in CRM
  • Collaborate with project managers and other staff to increase total sales and profits
  • Collaborate with the Sales Director and make recommendations as to how we can refine your duties and responsibilities as you familiarize yourself with operations and customer needs in order to maximize your sales efforts
  • Demonstrate expertise in forecasting, strategizing, and achieving market and sales objectives
  • Create new business opportunities employing best-prospecting practices
  • Leverage relationships in producing contracts, purchase orders, and closures
  • Using social media to connect and engage directly with your target sales prospects
  • Attend continuing education, training, and safety meetings as required, and maintain a core competency

 

Required Skills:

  • Understanding of Solution and Consultative Selling sales processes
  • Excellent customer relations, verbal presentation, communication skills, and as well as strong written skills
  • Clearly and effective strategic thinking, goal setting, and forward planning
  • Knowledge of fiber and copper structured cabling and/or Audiovisual Systems
  • Knowledge of the market and trends in the marketplace
  • Time management and multitasking ability and attention to detail to manage multiple accounts simultaneously
  • Ability to work extended hours (nights/weekends) as needed
  • Fluency and expertise in negotiation, with a clear understanding of products and services offered
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • CRM experience, Microsoft Dynamics preferred
  • Must adhere to OSHA Safety Standards
