What We’re Looking for

At HeyTutor, we are always looking to strengthen and build our organization by adding the best available talent to our team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, be able to think on the spot, and is extremely goal oriented. As an Inside Sales Representative with HeyTutor, you will need to be comfortable making a high volume of outbound cold calls and providing information to potential customers. This is an extremely people oriented position. If you have an outgoing, friendly personality who loves talking to a variety of people daily – this position is perfect for you!

As a Sales Development Representative, you will be the first touchpoint in the sales cycle, responsible for lead qualification, prospecting, and follow-up. You will work closely with our Sales and Business Development teams to expand MaxMind’s customer base. This is a new role that you would be helping to define and create.

Our hourly range for the Sales Development role is $30/hr USD plus commission, with specific offers dependent on skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Researching and qualifying potential leads
  • Reaching out to potential customers via outbound emails and calls
  • Educating leads about HeyTutor and its products
  • Lead follow-up
  • Being creative in identifying new commercial opportunities and revenue sources
  • Setting phone/video meetings for prospects with Business Development Associates

Minimum Qualifications

  • Good problem solving skills
  • Sales experience in education preferred, but not required
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • A self-starter who can work well independently and as part of a team
  • Conduct a high volume of outbound cold calls to potential clients to successfully book meetings
  • Create and maintain a pipeline of prospects and client information
  • Present and provide information and conduct follow up calls
  • Research and produce potential leads
  • Be familiar with Salesforce


  • The ability to be comfortable and persistent on the telephone is a must!

  • 3 years of sales experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident and persuasive individual who is comfortable and enjoys connecting with a variety of different people


Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, but not required


$30/hr + Commission

Start Date

Within 1-2 weeks

*This is a full time position Monday through Friday
