Position Description:

We are looking for a passionate and talented Search Relevance and AI/ML Model Editor to be a key member of our small team working on applications of search technology to healthcare. This work involves digital content, predominantly in text form, and is focused on delivering frequent high-quality results on pre-defined relevance, labeling, identification, and matching tasks for content available on our sites. A suitable candidate would be a highly reliable, self-motivated individual with interests in advanced technology in healthcare.

In addition, we expect this individual to drive our in-house tool creation efforts as a customer of these tools. Attention to detail, diligence, speed, and a desire to do more, faster are the key skills for this position. You will operate at the intersection of product design and engineering, frequently interacting with technical product managers, search engineers, data scientists and our customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze a variety of search engine results, internal and external, build comparison metrics using existing tools
  • Create qualitative data and measurements to determine relevance, ranking and labeling quality
  • Work with software engineers, data scientists and technical product managers on what is next, in terms of tooling, result analysis and use cases
  • Present evaluation findings to the department along with recommendations and solutions
  • Multitask on multiple concurrent evaluation projects
  • Evaluate defined metrics to improve productivity/performance, provide feedback to development engineers to design new features for more efficient feedback methods, derive/design a proper data labeling guideline.
  • May manage a small group of employees who will work on various small tasks related to above activities.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Excellent command on English in the context of search queries as well as audio content
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to quickly pivot form one task to another in the same week, sometimes requiring context switch
  • Excellent research and analytic skills
  • Excellent follow-through and record keeping skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or 2+ years of equivalent Search Relenvance Editor experience
  • 2+ years Proficiency in computer operating software, web browsing applications and common productivity tools [e.g., MS Office/Sharepoint, Chrome/Safari/Edge browsers,]
  • 2+ years Understanding of different document formats, e.g. Word, PDF, or raw text

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work on small data analysis tasks using MS Excel and similar data sheet applications [e.g., ability to create pivot tables]
  • 1-2 years of search engine experience
  • In-depth familiarity with search engines and web search
  • Previous experience with SmartLogic, Elastic Search, Yext, and/or LucidWorks Fusion
  • Familiarity with AWS Mechanical Turk or similar solutions
  • Familiarity with different data formats, e.g., JSON, XML
  • Command of languages other than English

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $54,400 to $97,000. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $60,000 to $106,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
