Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Institutional Investment Operations Specialist...

The group is responsible for managing and controlling high levels of risk and liability inherent in the voluntary corporate action process. We must provide outstanding service and create an environment that maintains its focus on serving our clients while constantly looking for ways to improve efficiency. The group processes voluntary corporate actions, for all asset classes and across all markets. The group works with external custodians to process allocations from our custodians to our clients. Other duties include the managing of communications with Stock Loan as well as CASS reporting. The ideal candidate must be able to balance a workload of tasks across the department and ensure all deadlines are met. In addition the successful candidate should have a proven track record of process improvement and ownership of specific tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for being part of a team that is the main point of contact for our Voluntary events business and be responsible for but not limited to the below tasks: • verifying event notifications • processing election and working with custodians to ensure complete understanding of events and ensuring data flow correct • Communicating with multiple departments • Risk management for events processed and overall aspects of the team The firm has expanded its custodial business to include Prime Brokerage customers. This business will grow meaningfully over the coming years. To support that growth, the candidate will be required to adjust the daily tasks as the business changes. Effective execution will be critical for this candidate to be successful. They will report to an Asset Servicing manager and be part of the overall Asset Servicing team.

Institutional Investment Operations: Covers jobs responsible for providing support for institutional trades which includes client account onboarding, input and monitoring of cash payments, customer service, project support, funding operations, custodial operations, securities settlement services, structured loan operations, general ledger reconciliation as well as work to resolve confirmation and ISDA related issues.

In this role, you will:
  • Assist in lifecycle support for institutional trade flow
  • Manage client account onboarding, cash payments, customer service, funding operations, custodial operations, securities settlement services, structured loan operations, general ledger reconciliation, as well as, work to resolve confirmation and ISDA related issues
  • Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables
  • Contribute to large scale planning related to process, procedures and efficiencies with internal and industry related initiatives
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
  • Provide leadership to bring groups together to resolve multi-faceted complex issues
  • Serve as a leader on projects along with internal and industry related initiatives
  • Review and analyze complex functional and operational tasks that require in-depth evaluation
  • Exercise independent judgment and resolution to guide the deliverable
  • Resolve moderately complex issues
  • Lead team to meet functional area projects, and process deliverables
  • Leverage solid understanding of functions, policies, procedures and compliance requirements
  • Mentor and assist analysts
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 5+ years of Broker Dealer Asset Services Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of Prime Brokerage Support
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with TCS BANCS a plus
  • Broadridge BPS
  • Broadridge Proxy ICS Online
  • SRD II knowledge a plus
  • Knowledge of DTCC processing
  • Series 7 or 99 or the ability to obtain
  • Experience in Institutional Investment Operations, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Knowledge of DTCC, Clearstream XACT, BNP, TCS BANCS and Agents for elections and allocations
  • Organized, able to deal with high volume and prioritize workload
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and on project work

    Bankruptcy and other complex corporate action experience within Asset Services
  • Willingness to take on responsibility
  • Confidence to deal with both external and internal clients

    Strong analytical, organizational skills
  • Customer service orientation is a must with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, understand and articulate complex corporate actions directly from prospectus and other company related materials
