Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor changes to laws and regulations to ensure compliance with State & Federal laws, regulations, and mandates
  • Establish and implement standard policies, procedures, processes, and best practices across UHG to promote compliance with applicable laws and contractual obligations
  • Conduct state-specific legal research and monitor changes to requirements to mitigate risks and achieve compliance
  • Support the collection of data for regulatory filings, coordinate and develop reports, projects, assessment tools to verify compliance
  • Develop compliance communications and drive problem resolution for the business
  • Demonstrate knowledge in Medicaid federal, contractual, and state rules
  • Demonstrate excellent analytic and communications skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree OR 3+ years of experience working in a government or healthcare environment with experience in Medicaid compliance and/or legal
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in SharePoint (building data base, creating documents, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable on Medicaid federal, contractual, and state rules

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience working in a government, healthcare, managed care, or health insurance environment 
  • 5+ years of experience with regulatory filings and working with regulators
  • Solid problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written & verbal in English

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
