This position is for a Supervisor and Consultant supporting the Enterprise Content Management team. Chief responsibilities of this position include coordinating work activities with other leadership, developing plans to meet short-term objectives, identifying and resolving operational problems, and making process or service decisions.

The candidate for this position should be able to work independently and within a team environment. Organization and project management skills are integral to success in this role. The individual will be expected to work with our internal business customers to ensure the content continually aligns with the business objectives and by using critical thinking to recommend standard operating procedure (SOP) and knowledge management solutions to operational problems. The ability to develop and maintain, collaborative relationships with customers and within the team is expected.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements
  • Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion
  • Coordinate work activities with other leadership
  • Develop plans to meet short-term objectives
  • Identify and resolve operational problems using defined processes, expertise, and judgement
  • Project management of process improvement initiatives including assistance on migrations to KnowledgeNow
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and support to less experienced Technical Writers
  • Review and analyze current material and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, and content for improvements
  • Work with less structured, more complex issues to write and edit internal procedural material
  • Assist with validating deliverables for accuracy, readability, and usability
  • Assist with customer satisfaction issues
  • Discuss technical process on calls with varying levels of management to become familiar with applications and production methods
  • Using pertinent data and facts, identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise
  • Ensure compliance with applicable timelines and quality standards
  • Serve on applicable quality committees/work groups to identify and communicate common quality issues, gaps in process and patterns (e.g., Quality Council)
  • Research and use knowledge of assigned business units to influence decision-making and support short and long term operational/strategic business activities - by developing, enhancing, and maintaining operational documentation

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Business or Technical Writing experience
  • 1+ years of project management experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word
  • Proficient in Lean and Process Mapping

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Undergraduate degree in Communication, English, or Business Administration
  • Certification in Technical Writing
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio
  • Experience with HTML & CSS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Solid people skills with the ability to work with different levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated decision making and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated flexibility to work and support a “constant change” environment
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance, solving moderately complex problems and/or moderately complex analyses
  • Ability to use collaborative skills

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900.  Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
