Position Summary

YEB is seeking a VP of Mergers & Acquisitions to help support the company’s rapid acquisition strategy to complement its organic growth. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the acquisition process, including sourcing, diligence, transaction oversight, integration planning, and certain post-closing value creation initiatives. This person should have the ability to lead conversations with senior executives while also being able to perform detailed modeling, diligence, and work stream coordination.

The job requires an appreciation of the power of sports and enrichment programs in shaping the future of our youth. This is a full-time role that is 100% remote but with the expectation of traveling to get to know existing businesses in the first few months and visiting with YEB leadership team in San Rafael, CA a few times a year. This person will report to the COO of Youth Enrichment Brands and have significant exposure to YEB’s financial sponsor, Roark Capital

Key Responsibilities

  • Support YEB in sourcing, prioritizing, and developing relationships with acquisition targets
  • Lead diligence efforts for future acquisitions - This approach will likely be in partnership with Roark at first but ultimately will include responsibility for data request, data analysis and modeling, target interviews, information synthesis, and developing the underwriting plan
  • Develop and drive integration plans and post-acquisition activities, with focus on accelerating M&A value and ensuring a smooth integration experience - Work with integration workstream leaders to ensure efficient and positive integration experience
  • Build and own the internal M&A and integration playbook
  • Provide insights and recommendations on organizational / infrastructure opportunities for targets within YEB
  • Conduct post mortems on acquisitions in terms of both integrations and value creation to refine the M&A process

Key Qualifications and Personal Characteristics of the Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years of M&A diligence and integration experience, preferably for a PE-backed operating company
  • Strong project management experience
  • Proactive and highly organized problem-solver and strategic thinker
  • A desire to act quickly and get things done in a nimble, high-growth environment
  • High sense of urgency: organized, gets stuff done, and can motivate team to get stuff done
