Job details

Job title: Software Developer

Reporting to: Head of Operations & CEO

Key responsibilities: Ensuring we have the cleanest code possible with the most effective business results, to act as a bedrock for future development. Documenting our current technology systems and tuning up of eComm funnels along with optimising and implementing recommendations from our SEO and marketing team. Working with design elements, photography and other brand guidelines to deliver on new concepts and honing existing systems. The post holder will be responsible for shaping the evolution of the technology stack.

Essential skills: You must know how to ship code, work as a DevOps as well as being a great front-end developer. You will have to self manage planning, scheduling and testing.

You need to have a good understanding of PHP, MySQL, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS as well as how to manage and keep cloud platform environments secure and up to date.

You also need to speak, read and write fluent English. In these times, we are obviously working from home, so having comfort with remote working tools and being able to self-manage is also essential.

Great skills to have: We’re an eCommerce business who design and ship our products for our beloved dogs and maybe other pets in the future so having prior experience of these technology systems is perfect.

Understanding the data needed to run this sort of business is not essential, but the ability to extract the raw data for us to show you how to manipulate it best is preferred.

WordPress and WooCommerce experience are a definite plus. Understanding Stripe or any other payment system is good.

Demonstrable skills around security methodology and its application to eCommerce systems are useful.

(Owning your own dog is not essential)
