Faculty Success and Academic Technology Specialist

Description The Faculty Success and Academic Technology Specialist support faculty, staff, and students in the effective use of educational technology to advance teaching, learning, and assessment in an osteopathic medical education environment. This role is critical in ensuring the appropriate, efficient, and innovative use and training of instructional technologies to produce higher quality teaching and learning at ICOM. Collaborate with all departments to improve teaching and education through support and training of faculty to maximize their teaching performance and instructional delivery Provide faculty training, consultation, and support in the use of learning management systems, video software, polling tools, active learning platforms, and other instructional technologies and strategies Assist faculty in integrating technology into face-to-face, hybrid, and online learning environments Collaborate with curriculum and assessment teams to ensure appropriate use of technology in didactic, clinical, and simulation-based education, leading to better education of ICOM students Serve as a key liaison for ICOM software/technology platforms (LMS, assessment, mapping, etc) Ensure integration and interoperability among systems to support seamless user experience and data flow Troubleshoot platform issues in collaboration with IT, vendors, and end users (faculty and staff) Identify and promote emerging educational technologies that align with the mission and values of ICOM Design and deliver workshops, tutorials, and resources to support faculty development Evaluate the effectiveness of educational tools and recommend improvements Work closely with faculty, instructional designers, simulation staff, and clinical educators to develop interactive and learner-centered experiences Actively lead in curriculum mapping, course reviews, and instructional design projects Contribute to accreditation reporting and data collection regarding technology use in the curriculum Ensure accessibility, FERPA compliance, and security of educational technologies Stay current with trends, tools, and policies in medical education and educational technology Requirements Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred (Education, Instructional Technology, Curriculum Design, or related field) Proficiency with LMS platforms, digital assessment tools, and educational media Strong communication skills Familiarity with adult learning theory, instructional design, and principles of medical education Strong organization and planning skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to problem solve by analyzing issues and creating action plans Ability to manage projects and prioritize self-directed workflow Ability to present ICOM in public meetings Familiarity with Apple products and Google Suites Experience working in higher education desired, medical school experience preferred Benefits Health Care Plans (Medical, Dental & Vision) Retirement Plan Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D) Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick, Holidays, Winter Break) Family Leave Short Term & Long Term Disability Tuition Reimbursement Apply for this job
