Salary: $110,000 – $140,000 annually

We are seeking a Switchgear Sales Engineer who thrives at the intersection of technical excellence and commercial execution.
Position Summary
The Switchgear Sales Engineer is responsible for developing technical solutions and commercial proposals for low-voltage switchgear and related power distribution products. This individual will create elevations, review and interpret one-line diagrams, specify breakers and control components, and support quoting activities with speed and precision.
This is a customer-facing technical role requiring strong communication skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review customer specifications, one-line diagrams, and project documentation
- Develop switchgear elevations and layout drawings for proposal and submittal
- Support quoting opportunities
- Size and specify key electrical components
- Generate accurate and timely cost estimates and quotations
- Collaborate with internal engineering to ensure technical feasibility and manufacturability
- Participate in customer calls to clarify scope, resolve technical questions, and align on requirements
- Support value engineering efforts to optimize cost and performance
- Maintain responsiveness and urgency in a fast-paced quoting environment
- Travel occasionally for customer meetings, project reviews, or strategic engagements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 3–8+ years of experience in low-voltage switchgear, power distribution, or related electrical infrastructure
- Strong understanding of one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and component selection
- Experience specifying breakers (e.g., ABB, Schneider, Eaton, Siemens) and control systems
- Familiarity with UL standards and data center electrical applications preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design tools
- Commercial mindset with the ability to balance technical accuracy and competitiveness
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
