Production Scheduler
Job Summary
Handles pre-production tasks readying job for Assembly Leader. Assists in the scheduling and monitoring the flow of product through the assembly area maintaining all quality requirements. Assists in the day-to-day activities in Production/Assembly (Engraving, miscellaneous build, panel assembly, and shipping/receiving. Enforces all safety, quality, quantity, and housekeeping standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Create and maintain short‑ and mid‑range production schedules to meet customer due dates and target lead times.
- Run MRP/ERP planning processes, review exception messages, and convert demand into purchase orders and work orders as needed.
- Release, prioritize, and sequence shop orders; communicate work priorities and changes to the shop floor and supervisors.
- Monitor production progress, resolve scheduling conflicts, and expedite critical orders to meet delivery commitments.
- Coordinate material availability with Purchasing and VMI programs, manage planned vs. actual inventory, and initiate requisitions for shortages.
- Review Engineering Change Requests with Engineering and update schedules/BOMs accordingly.
- Collaborate with Customer Service and Sales to incorporate rush orders, order changes, and product substitutions into the schedule.
- Track schedule adherence, lead times, and on‑time delivery performance; generate and distribute production and KPI reports.
- Maintain accurate item master and routing information in the ERP system; enter part numbers, descriptions, and required data for new items.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce lead times, improve throughput, and lower inventory carrying costs.
- Serve as a point of contact for production status inquiries and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders and customers when required.
- Provide backup support for related functions (purchasing, job assignment systems such as Smartsheet) as needed.

Required Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or
- 1+ years of production or assembly experience
