About the Role Alpine Home Air is seeking a Director of Warehouse Systems & Execution to design and own the operational systems that govern fulfillment execution. This role sits at the intersection of physical operations, data systems, performance economics, and emerging AI workflows. The mandate is simple but demanding: make warehouse execution predictable, measurable, and continuously improvable — without reliance on constant human intervention. This is a senior, high-agency role for someone who thinks in systems, understands how data becomes behavior, and can translate abstract logic into real-world execution. Authority & Scope Ownership of warehouse execution systems and standards Authority to design and modify SOPs, controls, and workflows Authority to place quality holds and stop shipments Direct influence over warehouse leadership performance management Partner-level collaboration with the National Director of Warehousing, IT, and Analytics Core Responsibilities Operational Systems Ownership Own how work flows through receiving, inventory, picking, packing, shipping, and exception handling Translate business intent into executable warehouse systems Reduce dependency on heroics, escalation, and personality-driven enforcement ERP & Data Fluency Develop deep working understanding of Alpine’s custom-built ERP Ensure physical execution aligns with system logic and data integrity Identify gaps between system design and real-world behavior — and close them Metrics, Reporting & Performance Economics Partner with analytics to design and interpret PowerBI dashboards Ensure metrics reflect true operational reality, not vanity outputs Align execution behavior with performance-based pay models Diagnose where metrics are driving the wrong behavior and redesign accordingly Quality, Auditing & Root Cause Design inspection, audit, and feedback loops that surface true failure modes Lead root cause analysis across damages, discrepancies, SLA misses, and rework Implement corrective actions that permanently eliminate recurrence AI & Automation Enablement Identify opportunities to automate audits, anomaly detection, and exception handling Collaborate on AI-assisted workflows for quality review, operational monitoring, and decision support Translate operational reality into inputs AI systems can reliably act on Leadership & Enablement Build warehouse leadership capability to operate independently within defined systems Ensure managers understand why systems exist, not just what to enforce Create durable training and documentation that scales Required Experience 7+ years in warehouse, operations, or industrial systems leadership Experience working inside complex or custom ERP environments Strong data and metric literacy (PowerBI or equivalent) Systems thinker who can operate comfortably across physical and digital domains Calm, high-agency leader comfortable partnering with strong personalities Curious and pragmatic about AI and automation (applied, not theoretical) Benefits Group health insurance plus health savings account, 401k, paid time off, paid holidays, life insurance, short-term disability and more Paid educational and professional development training About Us Started in 2002, we are the first ecommerce company to sell pro-grade heating and cooling units directly to homeowners.
