The Network Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the company’s network infrastructure supporting critical customer-facing applications across global datacenters and cloud environments. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer with strong networking fundamentals who is eager to grow, take ownership, and gain exposure to enterprise-scale networks. The Network Engineer serves as a primary point of contact for network-related support, works closely with internal teams, participates in scheduled maintenance windows, and contributes to network implementation and improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor network performance and respond to alerts and incidents
- Troubleshoot network, hardware, and software issues through resolution
- Implement configuration changes using established change control processes
- Install, configure, rack, and cable network and server equipment
- Support datacenter and facilities provisioning, including power and cabling
- Assist with network provisioning such as IP assignments and circuit turn-ups
- Support security policy enforcement using multi-vendor solutions
- Maintain operational documentation and procedures
- Participate in weekly maintenance windows (Tuesdays at 3:00 AM ET)
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
- Travel to datacenters as needed
Basic Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of experience with networking fundamentals and protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
- Experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS or NX-OS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- Ability to work onsite at datacenters and the Philadelphia, PA office as needed
- Strong communication skills and a desire to learn in a production environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Networking certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, or similar
- Experience with firewalls, preferably Palo Alto
- Familiarity with datacenter environments and physical infrastructure
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a team environment
