Description Job Summary: Lend strength to Bethel Church of Redding to see the expansion of God’s kingdom by helping maximize working conditions for staff and visitor’s safety to enhance everyone’s ability to have the encounter they came for. Responsible for cleaning buildings, removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy. Vacuums and buffs floors, shampoos carpets, empties trash receptacles, and replace lining of trash cans. Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing carpets, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Hours: 0-29 per week Salary: $16.50 per hour Top Responsibilities: Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Gather and empty trash. Service, clean, and supply restrooms. Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees. Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications. Steam-clean or shampoo carpets. Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings. Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.• Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hoursand checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Requirements Believes and adheres to the beliefs and vision of Bethel Church. Ability to lift constantly over 20 lbs and up to 50 lbs. Working knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment and the ability to use them economically and efficiently. Ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products. Willingness to perform custodial and other manual tasks.
